All too hard to prise jockey Dwayne Dunn off star colt

Dwayne Dunn has been confirmed as the rider of All Too Hard this preparation with co-trainer John Hawkes indicating there is a chance Black Caviar's half brother could return to racing as soon as Saturday.

While the multi-million-dollar colt is most likely to be saved for the 1100m San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill a week later, Hawkes yesterday suggested he might nominate for the Missile Stakes or The Rosebud, both run over 1200m at Warwick Farm this weekend.

"We are not locked into anything. I may enter him this week," Hawkes said.

"I doubt whether he will run. It is just a matter of letting the horse tell us what he is doing. The weather will also play a big part.

"Most probably Saturday week, the San Domenico."

With All Too Hard almost certain to have his first run in Sydney, there was a suggestion the Hawkes' camp may be looking for a new rider, but Melbourne-based Dunn isn't letting anyone else jump aboard the son of Casino Prince.

"Dwayne Dunn will be riding him wherever he runs. It is simple as that," Hawkes said. "He knows him. He has ridden the horse before. I am happy to be putting him on again."

All Too Hard had his first trial on Friday, finishing second to Golden Slipper runner-up Snitzerland at Rosehill.

"He did everything right. He went to the line relaxed," Hawkes said. "He has done very well. He has really developed this time around. He was a big baby last time."

The Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on September 15 is his immediate aim before a possible trip south for the 1600m Caulfield Guineas.

"He will run in the Golden Rose for sure and head to Melbourne after that, at this point in time," Hawkes said.

"He would probably then have one more run in Melbourne before the Guineas."
