Rosehill trials - Love Conquers All delivers the goods

Proven Group I sprinter Love Conquers All could resume on Saturday in the Group II The Shorts (1200m) at Rosehill after performing strongly in a trial at that venue on Tuesday.

The Hawkes Racing-trained gelding won a 900 metre open heat by a short neck in the time of 54.65 seconds, defeating proven stakes performers Deer Valley and Vintedge.

"He trialled very good, I’m very happy," co-trainer Michael Hawkes said.

"He jumped away well and he hit the line strongly without overdoing it.

"He did everything we asked of him and will definitely improve."

Hawkes said it was likely Love Conquers All will be among Wednesday’s acceptances for Rosehill on Saturday when they are released.

"More than likely we’ll accept and see how he is for the rest of the week," he said.

Meanwhile, Gerald Ryan produced a blueblood to win a trial on Tuesday.

Minefield, a three-year-old colt by Redoute’s Choice out of the champion producer Sydney's Dream, won his first public trial, a 900 metre three-year-old colts and geldings trial, by a length in 55 seconds.

Minefield is a half-brother to the Group I winner Charge Forward, who is now a Group I producing stallion.
